Jesus is our pastor
Jesus Christ is the true Pastor and Shepherd of Restoration Road Church. While it may seem obvious to insist that any discussion of church leadership begin with the centrality and preeminence of Jesus, sadly many churches omit Him from their organizational charts altogether. The Scriptures are clear that:
Jesus Christ is the Head who rules the church (Ephesians 1:9, 1:22-23, 4:15, 5:23).
Jesus is the Apostle who plants the church (Hebrews 3:1).
Jesus is the Leader who builds the church (Matthew 16:18).
Jesus is the Senior Pastor who Shepherds the church (1 Peter 5:4).
And it is ultimately Jesus who closes churches down when they have become faithless or fruitless (Revelation 2:5). Therefore, it is absolutely vital that a church, especially its leadership, loves Jesus, obeys Jesus, imitates Jesus, serves Jesus, and follows Jesus at all times and in all ways, according to the teaching of His Word (Colossians 3:16).
Restoration Road Church is an elder-led church.
Our pastors are biblically qualified undershepherds who have no right to boast, or even claim anything, except that which comes through belief in the sufficiency of Jesus Christ to make them competent (2Corinthians 3.4-6). Our elders are men who take responsibility to help other people in follow Jesus as they themselves submit to His Lordship. Our elders are all pastors called and equipped by God to shepherd and lead this local expression of God's church and, according to Hebrews 13.17, they will have to give an account for those in their charge. The current elders of Restoration Road Church are:
Sam Ford | Preaching, Teaching & Vision (Staff)
Brian Dixen | Worship & Counseling (Staff)
Mark Hakso | Missions & Benevolence (Lay Elder)
Brian Kirkman | Pastoral Care & Prayer (Lay Elder)
